What is the difference between cash and profit breakeven?
The cash breakeven point usually occurs first for a startup company: a company may have made a significant investment in fixed assets and consequently have monthly depreciation charges. These will have to be covered to get to a profit, but cash breakeven , when we cover cash costs from revenue is a critical point: we’ve stopped the “cash burn.” We won’t need to extend borrowings or raise new cash.
