Business Development Manager, Asia
Carolyn attended both the University of Strathclyde and University of Edinburgh in Scotland, where she obtained her Scottish law degree and Diploma in Legal Practice.
Carolyn then worked primarily in private practice, in Edinburgh and London, becoming a partner and then setting up a business law firm in Scotland in 2003, on the back of a management buy-out. Carolyn had various management roles in this firm including Anti-money Laundering, Cash Room and Business Development Partner.
In 2008 Carolyn moved to Singapore and it was there, as well as Hong Kong and Malaysia, where she started lecturing corporate governance to University of Strathclyde MBA students.
Having developed a real interest in the subject Carolyn went on to obtain the FT Nonexecutive Director Diploma in 2013. She is currently on the Global Board Ready Women database and the Fast Track Stream of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators’ Chartered Secretaries Qualifying Scheme.
Carolyn was a Legal Director of Hill Dickinson LLP, Singapore at the same time as she was lecturing. Carolyn’s role at that firm was to build the Commercial team’s brand in South East Asia and provide that team’s legal services. To assist her in the job Carolyn obtained her English law qualification in 2012.
Carolyn now focuses on corporate governance and leadership training, as well as developing Capital City Training & Consulting’s Asia business.
